Thriving Ivory is a band straight from San Fran, California, with nothing to prove. The band has a unique sound and uses abstract consepts to create it. When I first saw the video for their first single, “Angels on the Moon”, I was surprised by the keyboards, and how they completely changed the song from a regular song to a true ballad. I have to say, the vocals aren’t much my cup of tea, but they’re great to listen to with the lyrics. The band reminds me a lot of Augustana and Coldplay, in that they use the piano to it’s full potential and really tell a story with their lyrics and melodies.
Listen to This
Also, I’m so sorry I haven’t really done much with Listen to This this week. I recently got a new computer, and it’s a laptop with 200 MB of space, so I don’t really have room for iTunes. I’ll try to keep up this week.
If you like my “LISTEN TO THIS” segment, then I strongly suggest you pull all-nighters occasionally and check it out. Or at least DVR it. It features the best for eclectics, and plays the lovely indie-rock that VH1’s kinda afraid to play in the daytime. Check it out!
MGMT is a modern electro-pop group, that never fails to leave songs in my head all day. Their latest single, “Time to Pretend”, is a peppy, indie-like gem, that has a video that will definitely spark your imagination. The video is a regular on VH1’s Nocturnal State, and their other songs compliment eclectic taste.
Y’all know who I’m talking about. The PERSON, not the city/state. New York is supposedly set to have a new show on VH1, called New York Goes to Hollywood, where the “HBIC” lives in Hollywood with Tailor Made, and attempts to fulfill her dream of becoming a real actress. Yeah, okay. With all the drama that girl’s got cooking up, it’s no wonder she has shows on VH1, 24/7. New York is definitely Crazier Than Me.
Since I’ve been so behind on blogging, I decided to choose someone that was extra crazy to make up for it. One of the main reasons for Bret’s craziness is that he always goes for girls 40 years youngeer than he is; he’s 45 years old! What made me mad was seeing the trailer for the next episode, where he’s mad at Ambre for being 38 or 35 or something like that- keep in mind, HE’S 45!!!! TALK ABOUT BEING CRAZIER THAN ME!
