Contrary to popular belief, I am not a true music guru; I frequently use podcasts to find bands and musicians you read about in my “Listen to This” segment. I usually listen to three, but I’ve added a few to expand my musical horizons. These podcasts are filled with great, free songs by many indie, abstract, and relatively obscure musicians. However, instead of just listing my music podcasts, I’ll tell you about all of them!
- Howcast Crafts, Style, and Summer Neccesities: I don’t watch these often, but they have a lot of good info.
- Indiefeed: Indie Pop Music:: I like indiefeed podcasts anyway, but I definitely prefer indie pop music to anything else.
- MAKE Magazine Podcast: Filled with rainy day/weekend projects to keep you busy.
- MPR: The Current Song of the Day:: Honestly, my favorite music podcast. They never fail to provide amazing music samples and introduce you to musicians who will blow your mind.
- HBO Stand Up Comedy: Honestly, I have it for the Dane Cook sound clips.
- Tea With Todd; The Todd Cast: Todd is so funny on Five Awesome Guys, and is even funnier on his podcast.
- The Blog Fresh Song of the Day: Blog Fresh is amazing; all of the bloggers and podcasters know what they like and supply the best.
- Things You Can’t Do: Hilarious. Just plain funny.
- Vaguely Live Radio: Alex Day and Jimmy Hill are comidically inclined, and prove so with this podcast. The unschedueled, basically improvised podcast is pretty much the epitome of comedy.
- Stuff You Should Know: Very informative.
- VH1 Best Week Ever Video Podcast: It’s always been funny. Need I say more?
