LISTEN TO THIS: Todd Carey

Todd Carey is an up-and-coming, alternarock musician from Chicago, with absolutely nothing to prove. His latest album, “Watching Waiting”, is a pick-your-price album, where. if more than $5 is paid, one dollar will go towards the Go green initiative, which provides environmental education funding for children. Personally, i believe global warming is a universal struggle and growing problem. As a planet, we need to work together to find ways to reverse these effects, so why not do it by buying a great album? Getting back to the album, I was seriously surprised; the album was very much an acoustic, alternarock album, with capturing lyrics and an overall great sound. Listen to him!

LISTEN TO THIS: David Ford

David Ford is an Alternarock, multifaceted musician from the UK, who’s music is amazingly addictive to listen to. Ford is currently signed to the Indie/Rock label, Original Signal, the label that signed another of my favorite artists. At first glance, it may seem as though his voice is a typical, British alternative rock artist, but underneath it all is an extremely talented musician. Ford’s songs are well interpreted, imaginative, creative songs that tell stories with every chord. My favorite song from his latest album, Song for the Road, is, indeed, “Song for the Road”, because the song is so raw and has an amazing piano-vocal contrast and harmony as the horns are added, not to mention heart-wrenching lyrics. Another song of his I love is called “Go to Hell”, mainly because it was the first song of his I’d listened to, and because I thought it might be one of those full-on, loud, hard, angry songs, and I was pleasantly surprised by the product. It’s such a challenge for artists and songwriters to write amazing songs like these with anger, and Ford pulled it out perfectly. David Ford is Definitely an artist to look out for!

LONG OVERDUE CRAZIER THAN ME: Johnathan Antin of Blow Out

Anyone remember him? The only guy in the 21st century who used the word ‘bangin’ as an adjective to describe hair? If you’re wondering what happened to him, don’t even ask me. All I know is that his sister is slightly more famous than she was before, mainly because her show “Search for the next Doll” on The CW has been kind of popular. The show “Blow Out” was amazing, only really because I didn’t even believe people like him existed. He would basically go off on people and make people angry, and then he would go to his therapist and cry his eyes out about it, then he would wash his hair with bottled water and say how ‘bangin’ it is, and then he would punch walls. That was the entire series in a nutshell. His products are still being sold at Sephora and other retailers, so I guess that explains what he’s doing. He is crazier than me.
