I know I don’t usually post hip hop, mainly because it tends to be so mainstream. However, I’ll bring The Cool Kids to light today, since the group has some of the sickest beats I’ve ever heard. With influences like The Ohio Players, NERD, The Isley Brothers and other great musicians, the rap group from Illinois definitely sets the bar high for other rap groups. With songs like “A Little Bit Cooler”, the group explains that they don’t really need to look like the typical rap superstars to be the best. They’re definitely a group to look out for.

CRAZIER THAN ME: Justin Timberlake
June 28, 2008 · 4 Comments
First of all, I’ve never liked Justin. *Nsync was a pointless band, that simply filled the void between the Backstreet Boys and LFO in the 90’s. They all made a pretty penny from pointless songs like “Bye Bye Bye” and “God Must Have Spent A Little More Time On You” (by the way, what kind of backhanded insult is that? I know it’s supposed to be a love song, but if someone actually said that to me, I would be mad. Like if you’re kinda bragging about something, and someone goes, “well, God must have spent a little more time on you.” Backhanded…) Second of all, Justin didn’t really get any backlash for the Superbowl scandal. Janet took all of the blame, even though it wasn’t really her fault. Justin used the experience to coin the term “wardrobe malfunction”. Finally, he’s box office poison. Have you seen one Justin Timberlake movie that hasn’t failed miserably? I haven’t seen any of them, because I have a shred of dignity to uphold. Justin Timberlake is definitely crazier than me.

CRAZIER THAN ME: Celebrities who REFUSE to pay Taxes
June 27, 2008 · 2 Comments
Lately, more and more celebs have been taking a page out of the Helmsley book by not paying their taxes. Case in point, Wesley Snipes, aka Blade, who apparently owes millions of dollars to the feds in taxes. The man has been in all three of those garbage Blade movies, which probably made a fortune together. The has a billion dollar resume, and refuses to pay taxes! He’s not the only one though; a few years ago, the first Survivor champ, Richard Hatch, was busted for not paying his taxes. Isn’t that the first thing you think about when you win something/anything? Now, I get it; taxes are boring and stressful and everything wrong with the world, but THEY’RE NOT OPTIONAL. If anything, taxes are way easier for them- pay someone to do your taxes! Celebs who don’t pay taxes are crazier than me.

VID OF THE DAY: FLASHBACK TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Back in the day there was a little band known as Kara’s Flowers. In my humble opinion, they were pretty okay, but they didn’t get far as Kara’s Flowers. Minus the name and plus James Valentine, they made Maroon 5. But before the glory days, the band did whatever it took to get relatively famous. Hence this clip with the band from Beverly Hills 90210. Enjoy!
